Finals Weekend 2024

Saturday 31st August - Sunday 1st September.

The competition took place in near perfect weather and we were pleased that the storms forecast for Sunday afternoon never appeared. With 15 matches and several players in multiple games, it took some working out, but Tracie Bailey and her team made sure everything went as smoothly as possible. Drinks and cakes were available throughout the weekend and the Sunday finished with a light buffet. Presentations took place afterwards, with Chairman Tony Blakeburn as master of ceremonies and trophies and certificates presented by Captains Ritu Varma and Martin Bailey. 

Thanks go to everyone who helped over the weekend; setting up and clearing the rinks. To Jean Shrub, Heather Blakeburn and the team of helpers managing to keep refreshments available and all of the spectators who cheered the players along. To Maddie and Denise who organised the raffle and raised over around £350 for the club. To all of the bowlers who just about managed to keep on top of the preliminary rounds and Steve Everett who was cracking the whip behind them all of the way. Thanks to everyone who came to watch, including some faces we hadn't seen for a while.
