There were last minute changes to the pairs and running order, but the 4-end, 2-4-2 format games got underway in glorious weather. The final was contested between Emiko Murrell & Tony Blakeburn and Chris Sharp & Stephen Brown, with Emiko & Tony emerging winners. This was followed by the traditional Spider, where all players are spread around the green, with one foot in the ditch and a jack in the centre. On a shout from Dennis, everyone aimed a bowl at the jack, with Chris Bunton winning a bottle of whisky for being closest (for the second year running). Tony, Stephen and Graham then donned aprons to prepare the BBQ which, together with copious salads and side dishes provided by numerous members, made for a lovely meal. A large collection of prizes in the raffle finished off the day.
The 'best dressed' bowler award had to go to Alan Powell.
